Saudi German Health earns ANCC accreditation for excellence in Nursing Continuing Professional Development

Nursing Accreditation

Saudi German Health (SGH), a leading healthcare group in the MENA region, has received accreditation by the world's largest and most prestigious nurse credentialing organization for Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD). The accolade from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA), reinforces SGH’s commitment to excellence in NCPD to advance nursing practice and improve patient outcomes. With this accreditation, the SGH Center of Excellence for Continuing Nursing Education joins an influential global community of accredited organizations.

ANCC NCPD Accreditation formally recognizes organizations that provide high-quality NCPD and ensures educational activities are designed using evidence-based criteria. By participating in NCPD activities provided by an ANCC-accredited organization, registered nurses maintain continued competence in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

Makarem Sobhi Batterjee, President and Vice Chairman, Saudi German Health, said: "An ANCC accreditation in recognition of our nursing program puts us in an elite group of organizations worldwide. It is an important reflection of our commitment to all our patients, and their families to whom we promised we would deliver world-class healthcare through improving nurses’ knowledge, skills, and practices."

Batterjee said that given the focus on quality outcomes and the need for safe patient care in the contemporary healthcare environment, registered nurses require opportunities for professional development that maintain and enhance their ability to provide safe, effective, and high-quality care. “Accreditation provides rigorous and objective evidence of the quality of education that supports nursing professional development. We are very proud of this achievement as it recognizes the commitment of our nurses to provide higher quality patient care by using innovation and nursing excellence in their practice,” he added.

Dr. Ahmad Shebl, Group CEO of SGH, said: “We are honored to have received ANCC accreditation as it recognizes the commitment of our nurses to provide high-quality patient care and reinforces our responsibility for nursing continuing professional development. The achievement of this recognition for SGH exemplifies the quality of nursing education and professional development of our nurses.”

Iman El Kouwatly, Group Chief Nursing Officer of SGH, said: “The training and development of professional nurses are in line with our nursing mission, which aims at delivering compassionate person-centered care based on the latest evidence and innovations in nursing practice, professional development, quality, and research. We are committed to lifelong learning of nurses, and we are proud to be accredited by ANCC”.

The ANCC Accreditation Model is based on the original Donabedian framework of structure, process, and outcome measures to evaluate quality. The ANCC standards provide organizations with a structured, evidence-based framework to design and implement NCPD activities. The development of quality outcomes ensures that accredited organizations continuously evaluate processes and their impact on the professional development of nurses.

Organizations that achieve ANCC NCPD accreditation are committed to quality learning and are investing in the future of nurses and healthcare.
