Juvenile idiopathic arthritis is a form of arthritis that affects children. It can occur in one joint or many. Some children may have symptoms for only a few months, while others have symptoms for many years.

Symptoms include joint pain, joint swelling and stiffness in the morning or after naps. In some cases, high fever, swollen lymph nodes or a rash may occur.

Treatments include medicines and physical therapy to help the child maintain a healthy level of physical and social activity.
